Student practicing CPR on child manikin
The Academy of Health Science at Trailblazer offers students a wide variety of knowledge, and hands-on skills to help educate them for their future healthcare career choice. Not only does this education prepare students for college, but it also prepares them for entry level jobs. The health science department is made up of three instructors. All of the teachers are registered nurses. Therefore, ALL 80 students enrolled in the Academy are being challenged by educators that have first-hand experience in various healthcare settings. The teachers are: Mrs. Denae Cobb, Mrs. Christy Fogle, and Ms. Susan Readnower.  Trailblazer houses two programs:  1) Allied Health and 2) Health Science.  Pathways leading to certifications in any medical field are part of the Allied Health program and pathways leading to nursing are part of the Health Science program.
